Welcome to the Basalt Library!
Basalt Regional Library will be closed Monday, September 7
for Labor Day.
||Meredith's Little Library:
Meredith has the Fryingpan Valley's first Little Library! John and Lucy Stephenson from Carpenteria, California, summer visitors to Meredith, have donated his mother's dollhouse to use as the Little Library.
Elizabeth Ruth Buxton (Stephenson) was born in 1903 in Nashua, New Hampshire. Her uncle built the house for her in 1906. For the next century, the house got
passed along to all the girls in the family. It has now found a new home in the front of the Meredith General Store. A special thanks to John and Lucy, and to Darryl, Larry, and Betty Lou Woolley for helping with this project. There are free books for
every age available in the Little Library, and we are pleased to help keep it
stocked. A 100-year-old treasure has found a new home. A Little Library has a simple motto: Take a Book, Leave a Book. We hope residents and visitors
are as charmed by this new addition to the valley as we are.
