Substitute Patron Services Associate

The Basalt Regional Library is seeking an enthusiastic Substitute Patron Services Associate to join our on-call team. This position serves as the first point of contact for patrons when additional coverage is needed. The ideal candidate is passionate about excellent customer service, comfortable with library technology, and adaptable to stepping in on short notice.

About the job:

  • Starting pay – $21 per hour
  • Flexible, on-call position
  • Previous Library experience preferred

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist patrons with finding materials, using computers, and answering catalog inquiries
  • Handle all circulation duties, including check-ins, check-outs, and issuing library cards.
  • Maintain library collections, including shelving and organizing materials.
  • Provide a welcoming environment by delivering excellent customer service and enforcing library policies.

  • Basalt, named for the basaltic rock formation on Basalt Mountain, began as a railroad town and was incorporated in 1901. Basalt is a Statutory Town in Eagle and Pitkin counties in Colorado. Surrounded by wilderness, Basalt sits at the gate of the Fryingpan Valley along the Gold Medal waters of the Roaring Fork and Fryingpan Rivers in the White River National Forest at an elevation of 6,611 feet.
